Ron has launched a campaign to support Symphronica, with this message:
Hi-
I am really excited to invite you to conidser becoming part of a major music initiative, SYMPHRONICA, by making a tax-receiptable donation to the Windsor Symphony Orchestra (1-888-347-8327 or email by clicking here), and directing it expressly to Symphronica.
Symphronica: jazz piano and the symphony orchestra fused into a stunning new kind of music. Rich. Multi-layered. Songful. Not jazz with orchestra. Not classical played jazzily. Symphronica
In 2012 Symphronica will become a recording. A collaboration between me and my internationally acclaimed jazz trio, with the world renowned John Morris Russell, Conductor, Cincinnati Pops Orchestra, and the Juno award-nominated Windsor Symphony Orchestra.
Eight of my own original songs, plus a Québec fiddle reel, a Sephardi song, a Bach piece, and a jazz standard. All sensationally arranged. These make up Symphronica.
Recording is expensive. Musicians, engineer, equipment, artwork, manufacturing, promotion. And more. I need your generous help to defray the costs. Please consider becoming part of the bold, creative arts project that is the Symphronica recording.
You can support Symphronica by simply making a directed donation to the Windsor Symphony Orchestra.
TO JOIN IN AND SUPPORT SYMPHRONICA, PLEASE CALL THE WINDSOR SYMPHONY TOLL-FREE AT 1-888-327-8327 or by clicking here). PLEASE BE SURE TO MENTION THAT YOU WOULD LIKE TO DIRECT YOUR DONATION TO SYMPHRONICA.
Your contribution entitles you to a charity tax receipt from the Windsor Symphony Orchestra for the maximum allowable amount. Plus you will receive exclusive incentives, based on the level of donation (the list is below.) For more information on Symphronica, please visit www.symphronica.com.
Thank you for your past and ongoing support of my music.Together, we can make Symphronica a real musical landmark!
Musically,
Ron

August 06 2011
Ron will have a busy August and September in the recording studio.
In August, Ron will be starting the long process of recording his Symphronica project (symphronica.com). Symphronica comprises twelve compositions (including eight by Ron) that fuse Ron's jazz piano and the symphony orchestra into new, irresistible, music. He will be joined by the Windsor Symphony Orchestra, and world-renowned conductor John Morris Russell. The finished recording is due for release in late 2012.
Also in August, Ron will be recording his new RO3 (row three) trio, with Ross MacIntyre (bass) and Roger Travassos (drums). This trio is the child of Ron's Blue Modules project. Blue Modules looks to leave standards, fusion, small-audience, academic jazz behind. It takes jazz onward and inward to the audience. Jazz was the pop music of its day. The dance music. This is the spirit Blue Modules wants to recapture. This recording is scheduled for release in 2012.
Finally, in September, Ron will be in Italy recording with his wife, award-winning composer, pianist and vocalist Daniela Nardi, to record great Italian songs fro her Espresso Manifesto project.

April 25 2011
The title tune of Ron's most recent recording, My Mother's Father's Song, was profiled recently on national CBC Radio.
Produced by radio veteran Barb Dickie, and aired on the popular CBC Radio1 program Tapestry, the profile recounts Ron's discovery of an old piece of Polish folk music, and what he learned about his family's past and the grandfather he never knew.

A brilliant adventure. On his latest recording, My Mother's Father's Song, Ron Davis embraces both his family's rich cultural heritage, and boldly re-engages with the jazz standard.
