At home with musicians Ron Davis and Daniela Nardi
Red-brick Victorian in Wychwood is just blocks from childhood home

SPECIAL TO THE STAR
Jazz pianist, composer and teacher Ron Davis and his wife Daniela Nardi, a jazz and world pop influenced singer, pianist and composer, were content living in their Deer Park rental.
Then one day while surfing the Interet, Nardi found a newly renovated rental home in Wychwood. Only blocks from where she grew up ... they felt compelled to check it out.
The Toronto natives moved into the second and third floors of the modernized, red-brick Victorian. They occupy about 1,500 square feet, while the landlords – two brothers – live in the rest of the home.
Davis and Nardi each have new music out. His sixth CD is called The Bestseller, piano/clarinet duets with Sasha Boychouk. It is mostly original material.
Her second CD – The Rose Tattoo – is dedicated to her mother, who recently passed away.
Davis who once worked as a lawyer and an assistant professor in the French department at University of Toronto before realizing his dream of making music full-time, celebrated the release of The Bestseller with a concert at Hugh's Room in November.

Ron Davis The Bestseller (Jazz)
CFRB refers to Toronto's Ron Davis as one of Canada's A-list Pianists'. This pianist, composer. lawyer, academic & professional jazz musician never fails to surprise with each new CD. This, his sixth, features duets with Ukrainian clarinetist Sasha oychouk, and is cheekily titled bestseller knowing full well its not for the average middle of the road music fan. A touch of Monk, a nod to Tatum this 'romance' between piano & clarinet is definitely worth the stretch.

A brilliant adventure. On his latest recording, My Mother's Father's Song, Ron Davis embraces both his family's rich cultural heritage, and boldly re-engages with the jazz standard.
